As Callyn and I are recording podcasts, the latest ones are about her injury + rehab. Instead of the story focusing on heartbreak and loss, it’s all about life and growth. She found herself as a person, not an athlete and a bunch of other labels or things she was good at.
I see this so much in adults: creating our identity as what we’re good at: sports, theater, numbers, quilting, healing, managing, assisting, you know what I mean. That’s not you though. You are a person and although you’re good at certain things, that doesn’t mean that’s the extent of what you can offer the world.
So who are you?
Callyn would say to start here: Be your own friend and Be on your side.
