Your top 5

Your top 5

When I lead a group, one of my initial questions is “who are the 5 people you spend the most time with?” The next few steps are evaluating if those 5 people are aligned with your values, if you love and respect them, if they create value in your life.

While reading the Empowerment Issue of Success this morning, the author, Achor, expands your circle of influence into 3 categories:

  1. Pillars
  2. Bridges
  3. Extenders

This breakdown is partly from him and I added my thoughts ?

Pillars = “your rock”. The one you call when you’re in a crisis or when you need to celebrate. This person will drop anything if you ask. These people are your foundation.

Bridges = Connector. Friendship is one of their highest values and they are always connecting different groups of people together. You think of them first when you are looking for a service, someone to fill a need of yours. They consistently connect you to new experiences, new people and therefore a new perspective.

Extenders = Expander…always stretching you out of your comfort zone. This could be a mentor or friend with vast connections and experiences, always getting you in front of new people and new possibilities. It’s not only in the physical realm (friends, parties, socials) but in how you think and these people inspire you to take action.

I loved this breakdown from the author and hope you did, too!
